IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PHISHING
What is phishing?
Phishing (pronounced “fishing”) is a criminal activity that attempts to acquire sensitive material from you such as passwords, social security numbers, and credit card details through fraudulent e-mails and links to fraudulent websites. Sometimes the telephone is used. The sender poses as a legitimate company or financial institution such as Bank Leumi USA in order to trick users into giving away confidential personal or account information. You should never respond or reply to e-mail that:
- Requires you to enter personal information directly into the e-mail or non-secure website.
- Threatens to close or suspend your account if you do not take immediate action by providing confidential information.
- Asks you to participate in a survey where you are asked to submit personal information.
- States that your account has been compromised or that there has been suspicious or unauthorized activity in your account and asks you to enter or confirm your account information.
- Asks you to confirm, verify, or refresh your account, credit card, or billing information.
If you doubt the legitimacy of an e-mail or telephone call, or if you think that you have been the victim of a scam, you should contactus@leumiusa.com immediately or call us at 1.800.892.5430 from within the U.S. or at 1.917.542.2343 if you are outside the U.S.
