Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Gerri Alfino joined Leumi in 2016 as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In her role, she is responsible for the management of Leumi’s legal function, partnering with Leumi’s business teams in protecting its franchise while maximizing value. She advises and assists Leumi’s CEO, its Board of Directors and Senior Management Team in advancing the Bank’s strategic vision.

Alfino brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including more than 15 years as a C-level executive, serving her clients both as counsel and in business roles. Prior to joining Leumi, she consulted for Morgan Stanley, conducting a risk assessment of the organization’s commercial real estate and fixed income businesses in light of their conduct within an OCC-regulated bank. Prior to Morgan Stanley, she served as Managing Director at West LB AG (now Portigon AG), where she acted as COO of its SEC-regulated alternative asset management subsidiary and, among other things, spearheaded the implementation of new governance and compliance framework for that entity. As General Counsel for Assured Guaranty Corp., Alfino developed and implemented strategic initiatives and management policies and for Assured’s AAA-rated financial guaranty insurance, reinsurance, derivatives and capital markets activities, and gained significant experience with off-shore corporate structures. She has also acted as an independent consultant and expert witness.

Alfino received her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
